Wiendels farmhouse
Our farmhouse is a family home. When your aim is to spend some quality time together, you want to feel at home.
The large, comfortable sofa around the fireplace was made to sit back, drink a good glass of wine and gaze into the fire. The bar offers enough room to drink a pint and joke around. The kitchen is large and invites for cooking sessions. The recipes are ready and all the herbs you need are within reach.
The coffee machine makes barista-worthy coffee. The different kind of teas are on the house. There is a large selection of tableware to set a cosy table that feels just like home. Or even better than at home. We remembered to have napkins and candles ready for you.
The large tables are made to make a jigsaw puzzle or to have a game together. The big blanket chest is filled with board games, puzzles and books.
We have a playcorner for the small children and for the tiny ones there is a box, a changing pad and a babybath. This makes it possible for everyone to come “wiendselen”.
The kitchen
Secretly is our kitchen our pride, because it is not only very cosy but also very large en fully equipped.
The kitchen island contains double induction units, two ovens and it offers plenty space to cook while discussing the recipes at the bar of the island.
Everything is present to cook a delicious dinner; enough pans, an American fridge, a professional knifeset, a kitchenmachine, different kind of mixers, cheese fondue sets, orange press, kitchentowels etc etc. Think about it, and it is present. Even kitchen- and baking paper, and garbage bags are in the drawers.
There is no need to bring your own herbs and olive oil, it is all there for you.
The two dishwashers are out of sight and of course there are dishwasher cubes in store.
The kitchen linen will be stocked for you.
In short……….fully equipped.
Bed- and bathrooms
Wiendsels offers room to sleep up to 22 persons. Relaxing and unwinding are two key elements in the Wiendsels experience. Our beds make a good night’s rest a given: they are all 2.10 meters long and have thick Pullman matrasses. The beds are covered with silk-filled duvets and pillows, making them not only comfortable but also hypoallergenic. The beds are all made when you arrive and in the bathrooms there are huge towels for you. The bathrooms all have a rainshower.
Bedrooms
The description for the bedrooms is a bit complicated but together with the maps the story will be clear.
All three downstairs bedrooms (double) have private ensuite bathrooms with toilet and rainshower. One of these rooms (Tudeltoon) is suitable for quests with disabilities. This is the only room with a twinbed that can be separated into two single beds. The shower comes with a shower chair and both the toilet and shower have an easily accessible grab rail. The basin has been lowered for your comfort.
On the hayloft there are another three double bedrooms with their own private ensuite bathrooms with toilet and rainshower. .
Up to now this has been a very clear description…
Next to the three double bedrooms, there are two familyrooms.
The first room, Brummel, has a twinbed and in a separte space, a bedspead. The bedstead is spacious enough so that both children and adults can enjoy it’s cosiness. This bedroom has a private bathroom with toilet and rain shower.
We also have a beautiful small crib in Brummel, for your tiniest baby.
The other familyroom are two connected bedrooms. You first cross bedroom Schuppies before entering bedroom Schoegies. Both rooms have a twin bed and they share a large bathroom.
In the garden we have our bakinghouse; a small house suitable for two quests.
Bathrooms
The bathrooms of Wiendsels differ but share the same atmosphere. They all have a comfortable rainshower, washbasins with cool stone wash bowls and well litted mirrors.
You are free to use the large soft towels.
Baking house "Nakend Wiefie"
The baking house is the cherry on the (wedding) cake. Literally and figurativaly!
Orignal there has been a baking house on our property, but this has been removed, in the seventies.
A baking house used to be the domain of the farmerswife. She would be here for hours to do the washing or to make the bread.
By building a new bakinghouse not only did we enlarge the capacity from 20 to 22 quests but we have also created a cosy and intimate bridalsuite. You can stay in this little house for 15% of the rent.
naturally it is also possible, even when your not with 22 people to rent our baking house. The house is in the garden, next to the farm and offers you complete privacy.
The bath (and shower)and toilet are on the groundfloor of Nakend Wiefie.
You can climb to the double bed through a small ladder. This will give you a splendid view on the surrounded farmlands.
Our property
We have sufficient parkingspaces.
The farmhouse has a beautiful back garden with fantastic views of the surrounding farmland and hedgerows. Families of deer are regular visitors and can often be spotted grazing around. Every year the buzzards make their nests in the hedgerows just outside the garden. The garden is completely fenced so that everyone can safely play outside. We also have a Bertolli-style picnic table large enough for the entire group to sit together. And when it rains, you do not have to stay indoors: the veranda will keep you nice and dry. During colder summer nights, you can huddle up around the gas fire under the pergola. Unfortunately, our thatched roof does not allow for open fires.
Did we already mention we also have a trampoline, table tennis table and outdoor kitchen?
You can also enjoy our flowergarden or discover our large playing field, behind our wood, to have a nice play of football.
